In the kitchen: tables, chairs and stools
Everything happens in the kitchen: the day starts with a quick coffee, meals area prepared and evenings are spent catching up over the day’s events. It is one of the most lively spaces in the home.
Here, stools, chairs and tables are in constant use. They need to withstand daily wear, allow for easy movement and offer comfortable seating.
The island and the peninsula are the natural gathering point. Kitchen stools create an informal, more relaxed setting, perfect for a quick breakfast or to work on your laptop.
Materials: the choice of finish directly affects practicality. Polypropylene is easy to clean and suited to frequent use, wood veneer brings the warmth of wood into the kitchen, and fabric is for those who prefer a softer seat.
Design: certain structural details, when thoughtfully designed, also make a stool easier to grip, lift and move. Stackable models allow space to be cleared quickly whenever needed.
Stool height: the right height helps maintain a natural posture. For comfortable seating, we recommend a gap of about 25-30 cm between the top and the seat.
Stability: this is crucial, especially for a stool. A well-placed footrest also makes sitting at the counter considerably more comfortable.
In the kitchen, a great deal of time is spent around the table, on chairs or perched on stools. Choosing them carefully changes the way this space is experienced.
Shape: a rectangular table suits more generous spaces, a square table fits neatly into more compact kitchens, and a round table encourages a more intimate, gathered layout.
Versatility: an extendable kitchen table, paired with stackable chairs, makes it easy to adapt the space when guests arrive.
Materials: in the kitchen, practicality is a given. Ceramic or laminate tops are highly resistant to scratches, heat and stains. Chairs that are easy to clean also help keep the setting neat and tidy.
Dimensions: the choice of kitchen table depends on the available space. The table must be proportionate to the room and leave comfortable clearance around the chairs.
Table and chairs should work well together. They can be coordinated or, as we like it, you can play with color contrasts and give the space its own character.
